Radical Chick Giovanna by Chronophontes Radical Chick Giovanna by Chronophontes
Giovanna did wear clothes in her younger days, sometimes! This is how she dressed for The Revolution, ca. 1970 or so.

Credits: V4 Jeans by ?? (got several pairs of V4 jeans and couldn't identify these :blushes:); dynamic T-shirt by Fugazi1968 [link] with a design I threw together from memory; and the perfect Halls of Ivy setting [link] by :iconstocklove:.

:iconvirtualgiovanna: BTW, my pose was inspired by the cover of a book by Abbie Hoffman, Revolution for the Hell of It, published about that time. It shows Abbie jumping up and making a "Power" fist just like me. Does anybody besides me think I was prettier? :flirty:

I like how Giovanna's glasses suit her, but maybe that because I'm used to seeing her wearing them.
For my OCs, the Forest Area Critters, I find pretty hard to put glasses on my characters. For example, Animal Heart's grandmama* (a "retired" character of mine) has glasses, but she they didn't suit for her some reason. Maybe it because of the design of her eyes, or maybe it's because I draw her glasses right. Oh well, I did design her (and draw her) for fun!

Here's an idea for Grandmama: small glasses, lower on her nose, so they don't surround her eyes. (Although the tops could maybe "cross" the middle of her eyes - experiment.) I think that might create even more of an "old lady" look.

Some of my characters look better in glasses than others. Giovanna has had them from the start, so it's hard to imagine her without them. (Even as a little girl!) OTOH, Aisha is convinced that she looks "stupid" in glasses, and Jeannine is still not quite comfortable wearing them (or being seen in them, anyway).

With some, it's a matter of personality. I think Pandora would look good in glasses, but they are so very much not her style!

Gotta throw in an additional observation.

I've had a crush on Giovanna since she first appeared in my work. I love her as a beautiful woman who is MY OWN age - and I love seeing her young in the styles and culture of the time when I was young too. I'm also thrilled to see others of "us" who enjoy the window into the past that she is presently giving us.

:iconvirtualgiovanna: I love giving that window - not to mention seeing myself IN it!

Thanks, Bear!

Not "Summer of love" any more here, but those of us who were there for one were there for the other, whether or not we bought into both...

:iconvirtualgiovanna: RIGHT ON SISTER!!!! :aww: Back in The Time, we would have said WOMAN power.)

Thanks  also for the :+fav:!

Serious remark: I'm working on a journal about women's power - women often don't know how much power they DO have - or discount it as "degrading" - and men all too often exaggerate it. It's not enough, but it's there. What power DO women have, and what not?

:iconvirtualgiovanna: I feel like I have a LOT of power. Daughter Penny seems to have just unlimited power - wish I knew how she does it!

:iconvirtualpandora: Simple, Mom. (And everybody!) It comes from not being scared of ANYTHING.

:iconvirtualgiovanna: OK, honey. Simple, to be sure. Easy, I'm not so sure.

:iconvirtualpandora: simple again - I don't pretend to be an expert on "easy":

1. Anything that doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.

2. Anything that does kill me, makes me stronger in the next life.

And if you don't believe in a next life, too bad for you ;)
